Endeavour Foundation, a long standing Client of ADA, specialises in the provision of serviced disabled housing. This development is the first phase of the foundations disabled housing stock expansion program in Bundaberg, with future phases located on immediately adjacent sites.
Phase 1 consists of 1x 3 Bed, 2x 2 Bed and 2x 1 Bed rental units. Units 1 and 2 are designed to Liveable Housing Design Guide (LHDG) gold standard, and will be made available to the general public. Units 3, 4 and 5 are designed to LHDG gold standard and are fully adaptable, accommodating either independent persons - or families with a member - with mental or physical disabilities. A studio provides on-site accommodation for an assisted living carer, who may serve any of the units.
All the units are wheel chair accessible. However, much care was taken to prevent the clinical appearance usually associated with disabled housing. The development achieved an overall LHDG gold standard rating, although platinum level requirements were applied wherever possible.
