21m MOTOR CATAMARAN

The second “newbuild” for its experienced skipper-owners, R&Rii is a long range motor yacht designed to travel from Perth to the Gold Coast annually, with the owners living aboard for the six month return passage. As a result, valuable insight was gained into more intricate practical and technical considerations required for remote, elongated and heavy seas operation.

The interiors are intended to be classic and masculine, matching the exterior styling of the vessel. Three tones are used throughout: American “fusion” walnut was selected as primary veneer, with this reconstituted product offering both a contemporary take on a classic veneer, and an even, knot free colour that does not require matching. Corners and other trims are executed in solid American walnut. Soles are finished in uniform stone-coloured materials, thereby achieving a continuous neutral floor plane that complements the rich Walnut veneer. The “weathered teak” artificial decking used on deck outside served as starting point colour, thereafter changing to matching woven vinyl and synthetic-backed carpets. Remaining surfaces are finished in white paint, white solid surface benchtops, and white stitched leatherette deck head lining.  The three tones are applied as continuous ribbons throughout the vessel to reflect its dynamic nature, and ensure spatial continuity.   
Furniture is custom designed and upholstered in a cool grey leather, as are feature bed head panels.

The vessel was built by renowned composite boat builder, Assegai Marine, at Coormera in Queensland.
